Storyboard for Jed's Other Poem
Developing Jed

| According to Grandaddy's song, Jed is supposed to be made of spare parts and that he was made in the kitchen. Our conclusion, he is made of kitchen parts. Here you will see a spatula for an arm, a coffee tin can for his head, a fork and spoon for his eye, and a microwave meter on his chest. As in another robot cartoon that I made, "I am a Teenage Robot," Jed has a similar arm pointed out in the right arm of this picture. This is a similar arm to the classic science fiction series Lost in Space robot. Jed is mobile on a child's bicycle wheel and shoe. Other parts that make up Jed are an ear made out of a microphone, a speaker to speak from, a plastic sticker smile. This smile is peeling off from wear and tear. In some sense, he is always smiling. Jed does not always feel happy though. | |
The Story
| The Story starts out with Jed seen in a park. He is drunk. He awakens and stands up and heads for home. | Jed gets ideas of becoming rich off of what he is. He shows his maker (the human) a newspaper heading of a company's stock going up because of the success of their robot testing. | Jed suddenly gets ideas of becoming rich. He is pictured here in a suit and tie, smoking a cigar. He has super-models surrounding him. He is living the good life. He is only imagining this. |
| Jed is awoken from his imagination to find his owner (the human) shaking him up and down. He cannot take this. It hurts him. | Jed is seen here all bruised up and staring at the floor. He falls asleep this way, just looking at the floor with no motion or emotion. |
Jed is seen here in
the same picture as before. He is staring at the floor. This is a larger shot and shows
other parts and robots and scraps. This is the end of the storyboard for Jed's Other Poem. As you might have noticed, there is a lot more that is missing. Like many flash cartoons, I developed most of it as I create them with Flash. More thought has been put into Jed and how I could make it go with Grandaddy's song. Watch Jed's Other Poem! |
